Why meditation? A sense of calm. A break from the news cycle. Quiet moments in the practice of relaxation and reduction of stress levels. The best part is it's free, and you can do it whenever you want. How do you meditate? You can try mediation on a walk, sitting at a desk, or waiting in line at the grocery store. We find meditation is most helpful when we find a quiet place to sit, close our eyes and focus our attention on slow and steady breathing to help eliminate the stream of jumbled thoughts that may be causing stress. Meditation can provide a sense of calm and balance that can benefit our emotional well-being and overall health. As with everything, starting is hard, but the joy comes with practice.
